When I was around 9, when I met my Japanese family in Japan and they told me that I was not Japanese.
I was born and raised in France , where everyone considered me as Japanese because of my looks and my name, so I naturally thought that I was Japanese. I never thought about it before so It had never occurred to me that, being of mixed origins, I could be different. After that, the question “what am I ?” was always there.
